The spirit
of place

Kent, ‘The Garden of England’ is the spiritual home of Taittinger. Their long history with the county and its perfect combination of chalky soil, similar to Champagne, and climate provided the foundation of place. The quintessentially beautiful village of Chilham, close to Canterbury, its home.

A neatly maintained vineyard with rows of grapevines stretching up a slope beside a winding path, bordered by trees and greenery. This setting reflects a premium vineyard environment typical of English quality sparkling wine estates. The lush foliage and orderly vines suggest careful cultivation and refined craftsmanship in viticulture.

Why Chilham?

With the perfect combination of deep, free draining chalk soils, south facing slopes and the ideal altitude some 50 to 90m above sea level, the original site of Stone Stile Farm's apple and pear orchards, close to the archetypal Kent village of Chilham became the natural home to establish the Domaine Evremond estate.

Sunlit vineyard rows with healthy green grapevines and a grassy pathway showcase a serene rural landscape. This image captures the essence of an English quality sparkling wine vineyard, reflecting premium craftsmanship in viticulture. The soft morning light adds a refined atmosphere to the setting.
Uncompromising

The winery

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty the winery, along with the Cellar Door, is located at the heart of the estate. Designed by a leading French architect and built by an expert UK team, it is a true example of collaboration in the spirit of Domaine Evremond.

Built with sustainability at the fore, the majority of the sympathetically designed winery is subterranean and provides a natural gravity-led winemaking process. The design allows an uncompromising approach to quality winemaking.

Close-up of chalky soil with rough, uneven texture composed of small lumps and larger rocks. The soil appears dry and crumbly, characteristic of certain vineyard terrains where quality grapevines can be cultivated. This type of soil supports premium vineyard growth in English sparkling wine regions.
Pledge to sustainability
